Agriturismo Torre Del GolfoFarm HomeLocalitÓ Carrao 88050 Cropani Catanzaro Calabria Check Availabilty and Online Booking The farm and the family The agriturismo Torre del Golfo, is located in an unspoiled area, surrounded by 40 hectars of citrus groves, at only 200 meters far from the beach on the Jonian coast of Calabria. It is part of the Colosimo farm that has a two century old history. The actual farm products are citrus fruits, olive oil, honey, asparagus, tomatoes and other vegetables. The productions are organic. Depending on the season, it will be possible to follow the farming activities on the farm it self or in the surrounding area, even with visits at wineries and olive presses. The Colosimo family have preserved many rural traditions of Calabria, even having acquired with the last generations an international profile. In the family are fluently spoken, English and Czech. The apartments The building was a stable of early XX century, now reconverted in 5 apartments. The apartments are of different measures, there is a mono with facilities for disables, the others are all on two floors, they all have climatization. They have a lounge with kitchen unit and sleep couch on the ground floor, and respectively one, two or four double bed rooms on the first floor. There are one or two bathrooms for apartment and terraces with sea view. In front of the building there is a wide garden with a children playground. The food Torre del Golfo offers breakfast, that is served in the garden, for the other meals there is an agreement with the restaurant Tonino in Cropani Marina, specialised in sea food. On the farm can be bought any of their products (olive oil, honey, etc.) and more typical products of the area as wine, biscuits, salami, ricotta and sheep cheese. Supplement 4 Euro for breakfast. The beach, excursions and sports The beach, is of fine golden sand ideal for young children, faces the Gulf of Squillace. It is easily accessible by a 200 meters walk on a private path trough a pine wood There are different possibilities for excursions in the neighbour area, with cultural, archaeological, gastronomically or naturalistic interest. Between them all we can mention the one at the National Park of Calabria in the Sila and the one to Le Castella. The Sila is a mountain area with peaks around 2000 meters, rich in woods, lakes and wildlife, at only 30 Km of distance from the sea. Le Castella has historical and naturalistic interest, with his aragonese castle and the Marine reserve. The village of Cropani itself is very interesting, there are many statements of his millenary history. During recent excavations on different archaeological sites of Greek and Roman period, have been found many coins and pottery, now on exposition in an antiquarium inside the Duomo of Cropani. The Duomo itself, of the XV century, is one of the most valuable artistic expression in Calabria. Torre del Golfo gets is name from a defence tower of the XVI century that stands in front of it. The sport facilities available are horse riding, cycling, beachvolley. Near by there are tennis courts and football fields, at 12 km distance there is the Porto dOrra golf club. For trekking inland there are many guided tracks of various difficulty. L'azienda e la famiglia Lagriturismo Torre del Golfo si trova, immerso nel verde di un agrumeto di 40 ettari, a solo 200 metri dal mare sulla costa jonica calabrese. Fa parte dellazienda agricola Colosimo che ha una storia plurisecolare. Le attuali produzioni agricole dellazienda sono agrumi, olio doliva, miele, asparagi pomodori ed altri ortaggi. Le produzioni sono biologiche. A secondo della stagione sarÓ possibile seguire le lavorazioni agricole, sia nellazienda che nel comprensorio, anche con visite a frantoi e cantine. La famiglia Colosimo ha saputo conservare intatte diverse tradizioni familiari, specchio della cultura rurale calabrese, pur avendo acquisito con le ultime generazioni un profilo internazionale. Nella famiglia si parlano fluentemente linglese ed il ceco. Gli alloggi La struttura agrituristica Þ stata ricavata dalla ristrutturazione di una vecchia stalla di inizio 900. Sono stati ricavati con la ristrutturazione 5 appartamenti di varie metrature, uno Þ un monolocale predisposto ad accogliere persone disabili. Gli altri si sviluppano su due piani, sono dotati di soggiorno-cucina al piano terra e di rispettivamente 1, 2, 4 camere doppie al primo piano. Vi sono uno o due bagni per appartamento e terrazze con vista mare. In tutti gli appartamenti vi Þ un impianto di climatizzazione. Il cibo Torre del Golfo offre il servizio di prima colazione, per gli altri pasti Þ convenzionato con il Ristorante Tonino di Cropani Marina, specializzato in piatti a base di pesce. In azienda Þ possibile acquistare oltre ai propri prodotti (olio, miele etc.), anche prodotti tipici dellarea come vini, biscotti, salumi e formaggi. Supplemento di 4 Euro per la colazione. La spiaggia, escursioni e sport La spiaggia di sabbia fine e dorata, Þ ideale per bambini, si affaccia sul Golfo di Squillace. E facilmente accessibile dallazienda con un sentiero privato di 200 metri che attraversa una pineta. Sono molteplici le possibilitÓ di escursioni che si possono effettuare, tra le pi¨ interessanti menzioniamo quella nel Parco naturale della Calabria in Sila e quella a Le Castella. La Sila Þ unarea montana con cime sui 2000 metri, ricca di boschi, laghi e fauna selvatica, a soli 30 chilometri dal mare. Le Castella racchiude interessi storici e naturalistici, con il suo castello aragonese e la Riserva marina. Lo stesso paese di Cropani offre molteplici testimonianze della sua storia millenaria. Recenti scavi archeologici hanno portato alla luce numerosi reperti di epoca greca e romana, ora raccolti ed esposti al pubblico in unantiquarium allinterno del Duomo di Cropani. Il Duomo stesso, del XV secolo, rappresenta una tra le pi¨ pregevoli opere artistiche della Calabria. Mentre Lagriturismo prende il nome da una torre saracena del XVI secolo che lo fronteggia a breve distanza. Gli sport praticabili presso lagriturismo sono lequitazione, il beach-volley e il ciclismo. Nelle vicinanze vi sono campi da tennis, di calcetto e un campo da golf. Per gli amanti del trekking, nelle sue aree interne vi sono molteplici percorsi guidati di varia difficoltÓ. | ||
