| We are glad to show you "Certosa di San Giacomo", an ancient monastery with eighteenth century church surrounded by 42 hectares of green grass and flowery gardens. The monastery, built between 1197 and 1209 at Lauro, a medieval small town in Avellino province, became soon a place of agricultural production very famous for the quality of its products, and a place of spiritual refuge. Even today inside the "Certosa" are kept an ancient winepress and an olive grindstone and so it is continued the monks' tradition of producing wines like Fiano, Aglianico and oil for the "Certosa" customers. The 35 spacious rooms and 10 suites, are very well refined with most modern comforts that today characterise a four stars hotel such as: regulable air conditioning, sonodiproof glasses, telephone with direct line, TV color, minibar, safe. The Cloister, particularly fascinating gives its name to the restaurant. The "Certosa" complex offers also an equipped Congress Centre with halls that are able to accommodate meetings from 10 to 1.000 people and a nice outdoor swimmingpool for the guests.
