The hotel was built as a private villa in 1914. It housed the American Consulate in 1944, and after that was transformed into Hotel Miramare. The villa was built in Liberty style and is situated on the Bay of Naples. The lovely terrace overlooks the enchanting Bay of Naples. The buffet breakfast is served here in nice weather. Enjoy views of Vesuvius and the Sorrento coastline. Hotel Miramare was originally built as an aristrocratic villa in 1914, and was transformed into a hotel in 1944 after it housed the American Consulate for a short period. Also for a brief interim, it was the only hotel in Naples since others had been damaged during WWII. After the war, newspaper articles and social columns made Hotel Miramare synonomous with the rebirth of Naples through the many activities and events held there.
