Within the heart of Edinburgh's Georgian New Town, the Rothesay Hotel occupies a prominent position in a Victoiran terrace, built in the 1880's. The hotel comprises of three townhouses transformed into a traditional two star hotel offering 39 bedrooms over 4 floors. Located in a residential area, less than 5 minutes walk from Princes Street, Edinburgh city centre is on your doorstep. The hotel does not have a car park, the nearest being the National Car Park on Lothian Road. On street parking is free outside the hotel from 6.30pm on Saturdays until 8.30am on Monday, and from 6.30pm each evening until 8.30am each morning. Outside these times the meter charge is ú1 per hour. The hotel operates on a bed and breakfast basis only although we are pleased to accept advanced group bookings for lunch or dinner. We are however able to recommend the Beluga Canteen Restaurant located on Chambers Street which offers a choice of bar or fine dining menus and the Conservatory at the Royal Ettrick Hotel in Polwarth. Our full Scottish breakfast is included in all rates, and served in the breakfast room between 7.30am and 9.30am Monday - Friday and from 8am and 10am at the weekend. Continental breakast commences 30 minutes prior to these times. The reception is located at the main entrance where you will be welcomed by our friendly reception and management team. The lounge area serves tea and coffee all day in relaxed surroundings where you can enjoy the daily papers or read up on what to do around Edinburgh. Alternatively the bar is open 24 hours a day for residents. There are 39 bedrooms decorated in a traditional manner and are of a two star standard located between the four floors which are serviced by a lift. Quietly located in the city centre, the Herald House offers convenient and affordable en-suite accommodation for business and tourist visitors to Edinburgh. The West End and Princes Street's shops are just a ten minutes walk or so from the Hotel and in the immediate vicinty there are theatres, cinemas, traditional and modern bars, and a wide range of restaurants, bistros and coffee shops. There are 45 bedrooms, all with showers and WC en suite. Rooms are equipped with direct dial telephones, television, hospitality tray, trouser press and hairdryer. In addition to single, double and twin-bedded rooms, a number of triple and family rooms are available. There are two ground floor bedrooms, and an elevator serves the three upper floors. A recent acquisition to Festival Inns in 2001, the Park Hotel and Bar now features 19 stylish bedrooms between the main building and annex. Located in a residential area, on the main bus route and only 15 minutes walk from the centre of Edinburgh this is an ideal location whether visiting the city for business or pleasure. Overlooking the Bruntsfield Links there is a patio area to enjoy al fresco eating and drinking, alternatively meals are served until 7pm each day in the bar. The Park Bar, with its sporting theme, is popular with the student community, locals and visitors alike. Licensed from 9am until 1am daily, you can be guaranteed a view of all major sporting events shown on the big screen and plasma screens. The extensive bar menu is served from 9am until 7pm daily except when major sporting events are shown. A sample menu is detailed below. Group bookings are very welcome, however must be booked in advance. We are happy to recommend the Beluga Canteen Restaurant located on Chambers Street which offers a choice of bar or fine dining menus and the Conservatory at the Royal Ettrick Hotel in Polwarth. Our full Scottish breakfast is included in all rates, and served in the bar between 8am and 10am each day. The reception area is located at the main entrance and serviced by our bar staff and management team. There are 8 bedrooms in the main building and eleven in the annexe, Alvanley House only 20 meters away, which has a security door. Tailors Hall Hotel is an ideal location whether staying for business or pleasure. Built in 1621 for the Guild of Tailors, renovated and transformed in 1998 and now offering 42 bedrooms, equivalent of a three star standard. Located in the Cowgate, which is an extension of the Grassmarket, Tailors Hall Hotel is only minutes walk from the Royal Mile. The hotel does not have a car park and therefore recommends the guests use the New Street Car Park on New Street just off the Royal Mile. Hotel guests are offered a discount. The entrance to the hotel and bar is through the cobbled courtyard. In the summer months you can enjoy our beer bar and, weather permitting, BBQ. We occasionally have themed events and outside disco which all guests are invited to join. The Three Sisters Pub is located next to the reception and is open daily from 9am until 1am featuring live DJ's 7 nights a week. Noise from the pub can affect bedrooms overlooking the courtyard. The hotel operates on a bed and breakfast basis only although we are pleased to accept advanced group bookings for lunch or dinner. An extensive bar menu operates in the Three Sisters Pub until late each day with a choice of starters, main courses and sweets.
