| Within the heart of Edinburgh's Georgian New Town, the Rothesay Hotel occupies a prominent position in a Victoiran terrace, built in the 1880's. The hotel comprises of three townhouses transformed into a traditional two star hotel offering 39 bedrooms over 4 floors. Located in a residential area, less than 5 minutes walk from Princes Street, Edinburgh city centre is on your doorstep. The hotel does not have a car park, the nearest being the National Car Park on Lothian Road. On street parking is free outside the hotel from 6.30pm on Saturdays until 8.30am on Monday, and from 6.30pm each evening until 8.30am each morning. Outside these times the meter charge is ú1 per hour. The hotel operates on a bed and breakfast basis only although we are pleased to accept advanced group bookings for lunch or dinner. We are however able to recommend the Beluga Canteen Restaurant located on Chambers Street which offers a choice of bar or fine dining menus and the Conservatory at the Royal Ettrick Hotel in Polwarth. Our full Scottish breakfast is included in all rates, and served in the breakfast room between 7.30am and 9.30am Monday - Friday and from 8am and 10am at the weekend. Continental breakast commences 30 minutes prior to these times. The reception is located at the main entrance where you will be welcomed by our friendly reception and management team. The lounge area serves tea and coffee all day in relaxed surroundings where you can enjoy the daily papers or read up on what to do around Edinburgh. Alternatively the bar is open 24 hours a day for residents. There are 39 bedrooms decorated in a traditional manner and are of a two star standard located between the four floors which are serviced by a lift. Located in the Cowgate, which is an extension of the Grassmarket, Tailors Hall Hotel is only minutes walk from the Royal Mile. The hotel does not have a car park and therefore recommends the guests use the New Street Car Park on New Street just off the Royal Mile. Hotel guests are offered a discount.
